PostDoc Position in Cornea Xenotransplantation

The Science Center for Development in Xenotransplantation, coordinated by Professor Dr. Silvano Raia, is opening 2 (two) vacancies for post-doctoral fellowships linked to project “Genetically engineered porcine corneas for human transplantation”.

Applicants must have proven experience in cellular and molecular biology applied to ophthalmology. The successful applicants will be responsible for evaluating the optical, histological, and biomechanical properties of corneas from genetically engineered pigs, as well as the in vitro and in vivo immune response to corneas. The activities will be supervised by Professors Dr. Rubens Belfort Junior and Dr. José Álvaro Gomes.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. Each selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 9,047.40 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
