XXV Pan-American Regional Course
The Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology is partnering with the Colombian Society of Ophthalmology to offer the XXV Pan-American Regional Course. This regional course provides the opportunity of featuring the top international speakers to cover the latest advances in clinical and surgical ophthalmology. The educational program is designed to provide maximum emphasis on practical approaches to select clinical problems for practicing ophthalmologists in Latin America and the Caribbean.

In collaboration with the affiliated national ophthalmological and subspecialty societies and ophthalmic institutions, intensive education will be offered in, but not limited to Cornea, Cataract & Refractive Surgery, Retina, Glaucoma, Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, Neuro-ophthalmology, Oculoplastics, and Ocular Oncology. Lecturers will be featured from the Wilmer Eye Institute, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the Mexican Technological Institute of Monterrey and the Barraquer Institute.

The Pre-Congress courses begin on February 8th and will present Workshops on Eye Banking, Prevention of Blindness and How to Get Published. Our aim with the XXV Pan-American Regional Course is to provide comprehensive sessions for all colleagues who wish to improve their skills in these topics. The course will be presented in Spanish with some lectures presented in English. No translation will be provided.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.
  • Identify major advances in key areas of cutting-edge research and technology in ophthalmology.
  • Develop strategies to identify and address their own individual professional practice gaps.
