Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. We saw a need that needed to be filled, and we stepped in to help.

The COVID 19 pandemic is still affecting all of us. In some parts of the world more than others but we all should continue to stay vigilant and follow the recommendations of the medical and scientific societies in order to control this terrible disease. Hopefully, an effective vaccine is on the horizon.
The PAAO has responded to this crisis with several new educational programs. A huge increase of our virtual platforms is one of them. COVID-specific webinars as well as our successful PAAO Virtual International symposium are good examples of initiatives to help PAAO members and ophthalmologists around the globe to keep up with the latest scientific information.
The Executive Committee has approved two important measures to help PAAO members. First, we are offering the possibility that the membership fees may now be paid in four monthly installments. Moreover, we are offering a 50% discount for all members renewing their 2020 dues, new members and young members of the PAAO (use discount code discovid2020). These are put together to help you and to reinforce that the PAAO cares about you.
The change in the dates of our PAAO Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was a difficult decision, but certainly the right one. Our future Congress is now scheduled for April 13-16, 2022, in the La Rural Convention Center in Buenos Aires, which will make it easier for many of us to attend this important event.
