PAAO President’s Message

January 2023

Paulo E.C. Dantas, MD PhD
PAAO President, 2022-2025

Dear Pan-American friends,

Encouraging Submissions to Advance Eye Health in the Americas.

The Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology (PAAO) is proud to serve as a hub for ophthalmologists in the Americas, promoting the advancement of ophthalmology and visual sciences, and advocating for eye health at the regional and international levels. As we work to achieve these goals, we also aim to provide a platform for the dissemination of research and innovation in the field.

In this spirit, we would like to encourage the submission of original research articles, review articles, case reports, and other types of manuscripts to our scientific journal, The Pan-American Journal of Ophthalmology (PAJO) at https://thepajo.org . Our publication provides a unique opportunity for authors to share their work with a broad audience of ophthalmologists and other eye care professionals, and to contribute to the advancement of eye health in the Americas.

We are particularly interested in receiving submissions that address pressing challenges and opportunities in the field, such as the prevention and management of common eye diseases, the development of new technologies and techniques for eye care, and the advancement of ophthalmic education and training.

We understand that writing and publishing a scientific paper can be a significant investment of time and effort, but the rewards of disseminating your work to a global audience are well worth it. In addition to providing recognition for your achievements and advancing your career, publishing in our journal can also help to advance the field of ophthalmology and improve eye health for people in the Americas.

We invite you to submit your work to our journal, and to join us in our mission.

Whether you are a seasoned researcher or a rising star in the field, we look forward to reviewing your work and to sharing it with our community of readers.

Sincerely,

Paulo E.C. Dantas, MD PhD
