Dear Pan-American friends,

This month, the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology partnered with the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute to organize the joint 26th Pan-American Regional Course of Ophthalmology and the 44th Interamerican Course of Clinical Ophthalmology that took place on October 16-19, 2022 in Miami, Florida. More than 600 ophthalmologists from all over the world attended this event.

This meeting was aimed at ophthalmologists from Latin America and the Caribbean. In a unique one-room format, it offered a practical focus on specific clinical problems in Cataract, Cornea, Glaucoma, Neuro-Ophthalmology, OCT, Oculoplastics, Ocular Oncology, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Refractive Surgery, Retina, Telemedicine, Uveitis. The final lecture was on Global Ophthalmic Trends. The course featured renowned international guest lecturers along with Bascom Palmer faculty and included simultaneous translation (English-Spanish). The course also offered a commercial exhibition with more than 50 companies.

Speakers and attendees benefitted from high-quality education to learn the latest in clinical ophthalmology and had unique opportunities to meet with colleagues and make new friends.
