Message from the PAOF Chair

Sep 27, 2021From the PAOF Chair

Dear Colleagues:

World Sight Day is an international day of awareness held every October to focus attention on the global issue of eye health. The Pan-American is partnering with the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) for their World Sight Day and their #LoveYourEyes campaign. IAPB says that more than a billion people worldwide do not have access to eye care services.

PAAO and IAPB are organizing two webinars for World Sight Day: one on October 7th and one on October 14th. Top speakers from around the world will be addressing these issues within the Ophthalmological community.

  • Click Here to register for the October 7th webinar which deals with myopia, cataract, visual rehabilitation and including public health in residency programs.
  • Click Here to register for the October 14th webinar which covers glaucoma, ROP, Age-related macular degeneration, telemedicine and artificial intelligence, COVID, and using social media.

Please join us by registering for these free World Sight Day webinars. For more information on World Sight Day and the #LoveYourEyes campaign, please see https://www.iapb.org/world-sight-day/.

Sincerely,
