Pan-American Research Day (PARD) was held successfully on Saturday, 22 April 2023, at the Medical Education Building of LSU Health New Orleans. Thank you to all who participated!
We look back on many years with satisfaction and success of PAOF & PAAO despite the limitations imposed by a global pandemic. Finally, we were able to meet during our XXXV Pan American Congress of Ophthalmology, March 17 to 20, 2023, in the incredibly beautiful city of Buenos Aires, Argentina! What a meeting! What success! Our congresses are getting better and better!
In an effort to stimulate research at the Pan-American level and recognize the efforts of our young investigators, the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology (PAAO) has been organizing the Pan-American Research Day, in conjunction with the important partnerships with the Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and with Allergan Latin America, for the past 20 years and it has become an exciting tradition.
As the year is only getting started, we look ahead to many Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology’s (PAAO) exciting activities with the support of the PAOF. With education as a core mission for the Pan-American, we just came back from our PAAO’s Curso de Liderazgo.
As the year draws to a close, we look back at a year with satisfaction and success at PAAO. The New Year is always a fresh start full of promises, and the holiday season an opportunity to give. The future is great if we stick together as a Pan-American community! We are better, stronger and the goal is to meet again.
We have continued with the tradition started in Cancun 2019 to have an open call to our National Societies for our PAAO Awards at our Pan-American Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina next year.
