On August 13, 2023, Dr. Marcelino Rio Torres passed away. For 27 years, he served as the esteemed director of the “Ramón Pando Ferrer” Cuban Institute of Ophthalmology, leaving an indelible mark on the field of medicine and touching the lives of countless individuals.
