Latin American/PAAO Pediatric Ophthalmology
Fellowship at UT Southwestern
A one-year hands-on pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and its affiliated Children’s Medical Center.

Gillingham Fellowships
Up to two (2) fellowships in the amount of $10,000 each are offered to qualified Latin American candidates who have been accepted into an accredited training program in the United States and Canada.
2020 recipients are:
Julia de Lima Farah (Brazil)
Accepted for a Retina Fellowship at the Alberta Health Services, Calgary, Canada, with Dr. Amin Kherani and Dr. R. Geoff Williams
Matias Ariel Soifer (Argentina)
Accepted for an Ocular Immunology International Clinical Research Fellowship at Foster Center for Ocular Immunology, Duke Eye Institute, Durham NC, USA, with Dr. Victor Perez.
Sear Scholarship
One scholarship in the amount of $3,000 is offered to qualified Latin American candidates who have been accepted into an accredited fellowship program in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America, or the Caribbean.
2020 recipient is:
Eduardo José Polanía Barón (Mexico)
Accepted for Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery training at the Instituto Oftalmológico Fundación Conde de Valenciana, Mexico City, Mexico, with Dr. Enrique Graue Hernandez.
Emerging Countries Scholarships
Scholarships in the amount of $3,000 are offered to qualified Central American candidates for mini-fellowship specialty training at leading institutions in the USA and Canada
2020 recipients are:

Accepted for a mini-fellowship in Ocular Pathology at McGill University with Dr. Miguel Burnier.
Cinthya Ma. Mendoza (Nicaragua)
Accepted for a mini-fellowship in Uveitis at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
